Paracord knives are fixed-blade knives with handles wrapped in paracord, a strong and lightweight nylon rope originally used for parachute suspension lines. In an emergency, the cord can be unwrapped and used for survival tasks like building a shelter or setting traps. This fixed-blade survival knife includes a combination edge,  sheath with an integrated sharpener. While it comes with a complete handle, you could wrap paracord around it for a custom feel.

The primary appeal of a paracord-wrapped knife is the availability of several feet of versatile cordage for survival scenarios. Gerberscomes in a wide variety of colours and patterns, allowing you to personalize your knife.

The woven texture of the knife provides a secure grip, especially in wet or slippery conditions where a smooth handle could fail. Creating a wrapped handle is quick and much less expensive than manufacturing other handle types.

Gerber metal is a very light material, which is ideal for reducing the overall weight of a survival or tactical knife. The nylon material is resistant to abrasion and mildew. However, when it does wear out, it can be easily replaced.
